Norwegian launches seven new routes from Avinor's airports

Norwegian launched seven new direct routes in the spring of 2020, at the same time as the company is increasing the frequency of 13 routes from Norway.

There are travelers in Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger and Bergen who can enjoy new routes.

Traveled Norwegians from the Oslo area can enjoy new routes to Poznan, Kaunas, Wroclaw and Düsseldorf, while the Trunders get a new route to Gdansk. Stavanger and Bergen get new route to Billund in Denmark.

- We think it is gratifying that travelers from Norway, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark and Germany get their connections strengthened by establishing more direct routes. New direct routes mean a lot to Norwegian value creation, as Norwegian cities become more accessible to large European markets, says Jasper Spruit, director of traffic development at Avinor.

- Scandinavia and Norway are important markets for us and we are committed to providing Norwegian travelers from all over the country with as varied and exciting routes as possible. In particular, we see a growing demand for travel between Norway and Eastern Europe, both among Norwegians and Eastern Europeans. Now we look forward to offering them all affordable tickets and good service aboard our new, more environmentally friendly aircraft, "says Magnus Thome Maursund, director of route development in Norwegian.

These are the new direct routes to Norwegian from Avinor's airports:

- We think it is gratifying that travelers from Norway, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark and Germany get their connections strengthened by establishing more direct routes. New direct routes mean a lot to Norwegian value creation, as Norwegian cities become more accessible to large European markets. At the country's main airport, travelers from Poland, Lithuania and Germany also have access to Avinor's large network of airports, says Jasper Spruit, director of traffic development at Avinor.

Stavanger Airport:

- It is very positive that Norwegian is expanding its route network at Stavanger Airport Sola with this new route to Billund. There is a wide traffic base between Billund Airport and Stavanger Airport, and the passenger base is large, both for business and leisure travelers. We also expect the route to contribute to increased tourism in the Stavanger region. In addition to the new route to Billund, we are very pleased that Norwegian is expanding frequencies on the routes to London, Alicante, Split and Palma, says Anette Sigmundstad, Airport Director at Stavanger Airport Sola.

Trondheim Airport:

Two weekly departures from Trondheim (TRD) to Gdansk (GDN) starting April 1.

- We welcome Norwegians new route from Trondheim to Gdansk. It is nice to note that our route network from Værnes is in positive development. This means that our travelers have access to an even better international route offer, says Marit Helene Stigen, Airport Director at Trondheim Airport Værnes, Marit Helene Stigen.

Bergen:

Two weekly departures from Bergen (BGO) to Billund (BLL) starting June 18.

-We would like to welcome a new Norwegian route, says Helge Eidsnes, airport director at Bergen Flesland Airport. - To many, Billund is synonymous with Legoland, and for others a good starting point for traveling further in Denmark. Westerners of all ages love Denmark. With this new direct route, the connection becomes even stronger, and the possibilities even more. We are also pleased with the increase in capacity on the direct route to Alicante. With these two routes, Norwegian now has an even broader direct offer from Flesland, says Eidsnes.
