LATAM continues European expansion with new flight route Lisbon-São Paulo

The airline will operate the Lisbon–São Paulo route with a Boeing 767 five times a week

London, 3rd September 2018 – LATAM Airlines Brazil has today begun operating a new European route that connects Lisbon with São Paulo/Guarulhos. The route will be operated by a Boeing 767 aircraft, which has a 191 passenger capacity in economy class and 30 in premium business class.

The airline’s flight JJ8179 will operate five times a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights from Lisbon will depart at 10:00 or 12:00, with a flight time of approximately ten hours and 45 minutes.

Lisbon is our eighth European destination and the introduction of the new route reaffirms our commitment to be the airline group that connects South America with the world. The launch of the new flight has brought every corner of the South American region closer to Portuguese travellers”.

The International Expansion of LATAM

In 2017, LATAM Airlines Group introduced 13 new international routes further strengthening the airline’s network of connections in Latin America and abroad.

By the end of 2018, the airline group will have launched a total of 18 new international destinations from its South American bases, some of which have already been inaugurated including Las Vegas, Rome and Boston, and others which will be introduced later in the year such as the first flight to Tel Aviv launching in December 2018. LATAM has also announced that it will operate flights from Munich, the airline’s second German destination after Frankfurt. More details to be announced in the coming months.

With the launch of these new routes, LATAM Airlines Group will offer flights to 143 destinations in 26 countries, providing connections to seven other European destinations, including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Milan and Rome.
