Majority of countries can enter Malaysia without a visa, we recommend you check with your local embassy.

If you do require an Evisa, application can be made on the official website https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp

Please note there is an extensive FAQs page on the E-visa Website, the Routes team do not have any control on visa application processes.

A Single Entry Visa (SEV) is valid 3 months from issue. Although the e-visa are processed usually within 48 hours it is recommended to apply at least 2 weeks in advance in case additional information is required.

During the e-visa process you will be asked for the following documents so please have them prepared:

  • Hotel Address
  • Flight Ticket
  • Accommodation confirmation
  • Invitation Letter or Company Dispatch Letter

Weather

The weather in Langkawi in February is considered one of the hottest months. We advise delegates to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and a hat when travelling around the island.

Taxis

Langkawi International Airport (LGK), which processes millions of passengers annually, is both safe and reliable. There have been reports of dubious taxi companies outside LGK however reputable taxis can be prebooked or sought from official vendors inside the airport.

Grab is the recommended taxi provider:
