Dave Davis

President, Sun Country Airlines

Dave Davis has served as our Chief Financial Officer since April 2018 and as our President since December 2019. From July 2014 to February 2017, Mr. Davis served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors, and from November 2012 to June 2014, served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, of Global Eagle Entertainment, Inc., a leading global provider of media content and satellite-based connectivity systems for use in commercial aviation, maritime and remote land-based applications. Prior thereto, Mr. Davis was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Northwest Airlines, Inc., the world’s fourth largest airline prior to its sale to Delta Air Lines in 2008. Additionally, Mr. Davis has held various finance leadership positions at US Airways, Perseus LLC and Budget Group, as well as served on the boards of directors of Globecomm Systems, Inc., Lumexis Corporation and ARINC Corporation. Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics degree and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

Mauricio Sana

He was born in Colombia and has been living in Argentina for more than 5 years, although he has lived in the country before. He is 44 years old, married with two children. He is a Systems Engineer from the University of Colombia and a true data driven. He  enjoys cooking, watching series and movies and of course, traveling.

He joined Flybondi's team in February 2019 to lead the company's commercial strategy and planning and the generation of new 
business opportunities as Chief Commercial Officer. In June 2020 he was appointed interim CEO and in March 2021 he took over as CEO of Argentina's first Low Cost airline. 

With more than 17 years in the commercial area, he has extensive experience in the airline and tourism sector. His professional career has been developed in the execution of commercial strategies in airlines, hotels and travel agencies. 

As for his experience in the airline industry, he worked at Aerolíneas Argentinas for 4 years as head of the Revenue Management Strategic Support Unit and, previously, he was Pricing and Revenue Manager at Copa Airlines for 5 years. In addition, at the beginning of his career, he was part of the Pricing team at Avianca Colombia for 2 years..

Prior to joining the low cost airline, he was Corporate Director of Revenue Management at Decameron Hotels & Resorts and before that, Commercial Planning and Business Intelligence Manager at Almundo during the consolidation process of the brand at a regional level.

Rafael Echevarne is the Director General of Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACILAC). Previously he was CEO of Montego Bay Airport, Jamaica, and held positions in international organizations and airport companies in Europe, Australasia and the Middle East, specialising in airport economic regulation, privatisation and infrastructure and business development.

Rafael holds a PhD in Air Transport Economics from Cranfield University, UK.

Christine Boynton

Senior Editor, Aviation Week Network

Christine Boynton is a Senior Editor covering air transport in the Americas for Aviation Week Network.

Before joining Aviation Week in 2023, Boynton held marketing, communications, and PR roles for Massachusetts-based non-profits, culminating as Director of Content for a land conservation organization. Prior to those positions Boynton was Executive Producer-Digital for a Baltimore TV station. She began her career as an Editor with Air Transport World and SpeedNews, and was named Best Young Journalist at the 2012 Aerospace Media Awards.

Boynton graduated from McDaniel College with a B.A. in Communications and English.
