Facts (Overview)

Hermes Airports Ltd assumed management and control of Larnaka and Pafos International Airports on 12 May 2006, under a 25 year Build-Operate-Transfer concession agreement with the Republic of Cyprus. Hermes is a company registered in Cyprus - an international consortium of 9 shareholders, representing a mix of Cypriot and international partners.

The Concession Agreement includes a €622 plan to develop both airports through construction of a new passenger terminal building at each site and other associated infrastructure. The new terminal in Larnaka will open November 2009.

At Larnaka, Phase 1 of the development programme will take the airport to an annual capacity of 7.5m passengers. At both Airports, major upgrades to the existing passenger terminals have been made including complete redevelopment of retail and catering outlets and expansion and modernisation of arrivals facilities and car parking.

Together, the two airports handled over 7million passengers in 2007.
