Adelaide’s restaurants and cafés are among the best in the country. A new breed of renovated pubs, small bars and pop-up eateries have added an exciting new dimension to the city’s food and wine scene. Laneways such as Leigh Street and Peel Street, where locals congregate day and night, feature great coffee, restaurants and quirky bars. It is a vibrant capital city that boasts an endless calendar of festivals and events. There’s always something happening.

Adelaide boasts amazing wildlife, pristine beaches and significant Aboriginal cultural experiences. It’s known as the ‘20-minute city’ because a lack of congestion means you can generally get to beaches and the rural Adelaide Hills in a 20-minute drive. If you’re on foot, the city’s attractions, innovative museums, art galleries and the famous Adelaide Oval are within walking distance and will take you 20 minutes or less to reach.

In the city and surrounding suburbs, you’ll find artisan markets, fashion boutiques, large shopping malls and gorgeous heritage arcades. Rundle Mall has over 700 retailers in one convenient pedestrian-friendly shopping strip, right in the heart of the city. It’s Adelaide’s busiest, most popular shopping destination. Discover boutiques selling local designs and higher-end clothing stores on Rundle Street, one-off, luxe homewares on King William Road and major shopping hubs at Burnside and Glenelg. Harbour Town, near the airport, is the place to find all your favourite brands in one outlet mall, while the Adelaide Central Market offers a smorgasbord of tastes from around the globe.
